Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 15, 2025
At Brainides, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with our mobile applications and services. We've written this in plain language because legal jargon helps nobody.
1. Information We Collect
Look, we're not in the business of collecting data just for the sake of it. Everything we gather serves a purpose, whether that's making our apps work better or helping you get more value from what we build.
Personal Information You Provide
- Name and email address when you create an account
- Payment information processed through secure third-party providers
- Profile details you choose to add (like preferences or settings)
- Messages you send through our support channels
- Feedback and survey responses when you share your thoughts
Automatically Collected Data
Our apps collect certain technical information to function properly. This includes device type, operating system version, app usage patterns, and crash reports. Think of it like your car's dashboard – we need to know if something's not working right.
- Device identifiers and hardware specifications
- IP addresses and general location data (city level, not your exact address)
- App interaction data and feature usage statistics
- Performance metrics and error logs
AI and Machine Learning Data
Since we build AI-powered apps, we sometimes process the content you interact with to improve our algorithms. This might include text inputs, interaction patterns, or preferences you set. We anonymize this data wherever possible – meaning we strip out anything that identifies you personally before using it to train our models.
2. How We Use Your Information
We're not selling your data to advertisers or doing anything shady with it. Here's what we actually do:
Purpose | Details |
---|---|
Service Delivery | Running our apps, processing your requests, and providing customer support |
Product Improvement | Analyzing usage patterns to fix bugs and develop new features |
Communication | Sending service updates, responding to inquiries, and occasional product news |
Security | Detecting fraud, preventing abuse, and protecting user accounts |
Legal Compliance | Meeting our obligations under applicable laws and regulations |
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We work with a limited number of third-party services to keep our apps running smoothly. These aren't random companies – we've vetted them and require them to protect your data just like we do.
Service Providers We Work With
- Cloud hosting services for data storage and app infrastructure
- Payment processors to handle transactions securely (we never see your full credit card numbers)
- Analytics platforms that help us understand how people use our apps
- Email services for sending notifications and updates
- Customer support tools to manage and respond to your questions
We never sell your personal information to third parties. Period. That's not our business model, and it never will be.
Legal Requirements
Sometimes we're legally required to share information – like if we receive a valid subpoena or court order. We'll always review such requests carefully and push back if they seem overly broad. Where legally permitted, we'll notify you if this happens.
4. Your Rights and Choices
Under U.S. law, particularly regulations like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have specific rights regarding your personal data. Even if you're not in California, we extend these protections to all our users.
Access and Portability
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We'll provide this in a common format that you can take elsewhere if you want. Just email us at info@brainides.com with "Data Access Request" in the subject line.
Correction and Updates
If something we have on file is wrong, let us know. You can update most information directly in your account settings, or reach out to us for help.
Deletion
You can request that we delete your account and associated data. We'll honor this within 30 days, though we may need to keep certain records for legal or security reasons (like transaction history for tax compliance). When we delete your data, it's gone – we don't keep hidden copies floating around.
Marketing Preferences
Don't want to hear from us? No problem. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You'll still get essential service notifications (like password resets or payment confirmations), but we won't bug you with product updates.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. This includes encryption for data in transit and at rest, regular security audits, and limited employee access based on job requirements.
That said, no system is 100% secure. We do our best, but if we experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you promptly and let you know what happened and what we're doing about it.
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmission
- Regular penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
- Multi-factor authentication for employee access
- Automated backup systems with encrypted storage
- Incident response procedures and breach notification protocols
6. Data Retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Once you delete your account, we'll remove your personal information within 30 days, with some exceptions:
- Transaction records kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes
- Anonymized usage data that no longer identifies you personally
- Information required by law to retain
- Data needed to resolve disputes or enforce our terms
7. Children's Privacy
Our services aren't designed for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If we discover that we've accidentally collected data from a child, we'll delete it immediately. Parents who believe their child has shared information with us should contact us right away.
8. California Privacy Rights
If you're a California resident, the CCPA gives you additional rights. You can request information about what personal data we've collected, where it came from, what we use it for, and who we share it with. You also have the right to opt out of any sale of personal information – though as mentioned earlier, we don't sell your data anyway.
We won't discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. Requesting data deletion won't affect your ability to use our services (though obviously deleting your account means you can't access it anymore).
9. Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy occasionally as our practices evolve or laws change. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or through a prominent notice in our apps. The "Last Updated" date at the top tells you when the most recent changes went into effect.
Continuing to use our services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. If you don't agree with changes, you can delete your account before they become effective.
10. International Users
Our servers are located in the United States, and your data is processed here. If you're accessing our services from outside the U.S., understand that your information will be transferred to and stored in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from your home country.
By using our services, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure your data receives adequate protection regardless of where it's processed.
